Big Country (Scotland)
Greatest Hits Tour

Event info

Big guitars. Big drums. Big checks on their shirts. BIG COUNTRY were well named.

Legendary 80’s Scottish rockers BIG COUNTRY are heading down under, bringing their Greatest Hits Tour to Australia and New Zealand in June 2027.

Formed in Dunfermline in 1981, Big Country broke internationally with their debut album The Crossing selling over 2 million copies worldwide (Certified Gold in NZ) and two Grammy nominations, standing alongside U2 and Simple Minds as one of the era’s big-sound guitar bands.

The band is now fronted by fellow Scot Tommie Paxton, who looks and sounds uncannily like the late great Stuart Adamson and joins original member Bruce Watson. With Tommie the BIG COUNTRY sound is revitalised and re-energized. Hi Fi Way declared he “made this band walk ten foot taller”, Scenestr praised his “strong and heartfelt” vocals and presence and Metal Planet Music hailed his vocals as “reminiscent of Adamson’s… the best I could have ever hoped for”

Fans can expect a rousing setlist packed with crowd pleasers including “In a Big Country”, “Fields of Fire”, “Chance”, “Look Away”, “Wonderland” and more

Big Country’s sound and spirit remains as stirring today as it was four decades ago. The guitars ring like bagpipes over a hill, the drums hit hard and when “In a Big Country” erupts, every voice in the room joins in…. See them live. Thank us later.
