Bio

iOTA

Born Sean Hape to a Māori father and English mother, iOTA is a New Zealand-Australian singer-songwriter, actor, writer, dancer, and visual artist raised in Pinjarra, Western Australia. At 26, he legally changed his name to mark a new chapter as an entertainer.

As a musician, iOTA has released seven albums, with his debut The Hip Bone Connection (1999) earning an ARIA nomination for Best Independent Release. His theatrical work is equally celebrated, he has won four Helpmann Awards, including Best Male Actor in a Musical and Best Cabaret Performer. In 2022 he composed the music for the award-winning play King of Pigs.

On screen, iOTA is perhaps best known as the flame-throwing Doof Warrior in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), a role that became one of the film’s most iconic images. He is also the singing voice of Walter the Blue Slug in the animated children’s series Beat Bugs, and in 2020 competed in Eurovision: Australia Decides.

A true multi-hyphenate, iOTA remains one of the most distinctive and daring performers in Australian entertainment.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams is a New Zealand singer who became one of the most recognisable voices in Australasian music. Known for his raw vocal power and extraordinary range, his debut album Mark Williams became New Zealand’s best-selling pop/rock album of the 1970s. In 1975, his powerhouse delivery transformed the Vanda & Young-penned “Yesterday Was Just the Beginning of My Life” into a three-week NZ chart-topper. Two years later, “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” claimed the number one spot once again.

Relocating to Australia in 1977, Mark’s in-demand vocals graced recordings by the Eurogliders, The Church, Renée Geyer, and Jenny Morris. In 1987, he lent his unmistakable tone to the iconic Home and Away theme alongside Karen Boddington.

In 1990 his single, “Show No Mercy” stormed the top ten across both Australia and New Zealand. In 2006, he became the lead vocalist for the reformed New Zealand band Dragon, and in 2010 was inducted into the ROCKONZ Hall of Fame.

Jason Singh

Singh first came to national attention as the lead voice of Taxiride, the Melbourne band he co-founded in 1997 alongside Dan Hall, Tim Watson, and Tim Wild. His vocals were the driving force behind the band’s meteoric rise. The band earned multi-platinum albums, an ARIA Award, and worldwide tours across the US, Europe, Japan, and India. Highlights included dates on the Tina Turner Tour with two sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. Among Taxiride’s biggest hits were the top five singles “Get Set” and “Everywhere You Go”, as well as “Creepin’ Up Slowly”, the most played song on Australian radio in 2002.

As a solo artist, Singh released his debut album Humannequin in 2013, followed by his second solo album VALE in 2018, a tribute to the artists who shaped his career. In 2021, his vocals featured prominently in Victoria’s “Get Set – Melbourne” tourism campaign, aired widely on national television.

With his soulful, distinctive vocals and over two decades in the industry, Singh remains one of Australia’s most compelling live performers.

Glenn Cunningham

Sydney-based R&B singer and multi-instrumentalist Glenn Cunningham has been singing since he could speak, playing piano from the age of five, writing songs from the age of nine, and picking up guitar at sixteen. Music has always been his calling.

Cunningham built a reputation as a career backing vocalist, lending his voice to some of Australia’s biggest names including Jimmy Barnes, Ricky Lee, Delta Goodrem and John Farnham. His behind-the-scenes contributions made him one of the most in-demand session singers in the country, but it was his appearance on the first season of The Voice Australia that finally brought him to centre stage.

As a solo artist, Cunningham released his debut album Soul Document Volume 1, which received strong reviews. A gifted singer-songwriter and captivating live performer, Glenn Cunningham continues to be a respected and versatile force in Australian music.
