2022 will be their second tour of Australia and it’s selling fast!

The idea of Strangelove came to Brent Meyer (Counterfeit Martin [Gore]) in 2010. Through the years the project has grown internationally in scope; and is currently stadium ready, with the help of Leo Luganskiy (Ultra Dave [Gahan]), Julian Shah-Tayler (Oscar [Alan] Wilder) and James Evans (In The Fletch [Andy Fletcher]).

With a set list that spans the DM back catalogue, from Speak & Spell through to their latest, Spirit; Strangelove have been winning fans and respect from all corners of the music world. But it was perhaps their 2021 appearance on NBC’s “Clash of the Cover Bands” that has seen their international fan base grow. The premise of the Jimmy Fallon produced hit show is- two bands of a similar musical genre go head-to-head over two rounds to see which band has the most entertaining cover performance for a cash prize and bragging rights.

Strangelove won their episode ‘Clash of the 80s Rockers’ hands down over a Poison tribute act and won $10,000. Judges Adam Lambert and Meghan Trainor heaped lavish praise upon their performance. No surprise really, when you learn that some of Strangelove’s members are classically trained musicians and in-demand record producers; collaborating with band members from such iconic artists as: Bauhaus, The Cure, Eurythmics, Love & Rockets, David Bowie, The Mission, Morrissey, Billy Idol, Beck, Ladytron, etc.

For Strangelove, they view Depeche Mode’s canon with objectivity and respect.

To date Depeche Mode have sold over 120 million records worldwide, released 14 studio albums and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020. With doubt cast on whether the original band will perform any time soon after the sad news of founder Andy Fletcher’s death in May 2022, Strangelove is the near-best Depeche Mode experience for any fan.
